Social TV Last Night

American Idol on Fox topped broadcast social TV last night, drawing nearly 200,000 mentions while ABC’s Scandal drew 187,000 mentions. The NCAA tournament on CBS drew 111,000 mentions to come in fifth, according to Trendrr’s measurement of activity on Twitter, Facebook, GetGlue and Viggle.

On cable, March Madness mentions propelled TruTV, TNT and TBS to the top five positions. See chart on http://Trendrr.tv

Social TV mentions peaked at 10:00-10:14 last night, according to SocialGuide, which listed TruTV’s broadcast of the NCAA game between Davidson and Marquette as the top show with 220,000 tweets by 131,000 people, or 11 percent of the people mentioning TV. The Southern vs. Gonzaga game on TBS was second overall with 140,000 Twitter mentions.

Harvard’s upset of New Mexico drew 88,000 mentions on Twitter by 60,000 people, SocialGuide said. See chart on http://sgi.socialguide.com
