Critics’ Picks for Wednesday Night TV
We start today with our daily look at what the TV critics at USA Today, NY Times and LA Times are recommending on the tube tonight. Singing seems to be the theme with USA Today picking ’American Idol’ on Fox (8 p.m.) or NY Times picking the new reality show, ‘Off Pitch’ on VH1 (10 p.m.).
Learn more about ‘Off Pitch” on the show’s website and its Facebook page. The show doesn’t have a dedicated Twitter account.
“Like the bastard child of Glee and Waiting for Guffman, VH1′s upcoming reality series Off Pitch follows Wisconsin’s adult show choir the Grand River Singers. These are performers for whom musical spectaculars have no less importance than life and death. The stakes of getting into Gsr become clear when the public reveal of the next year’s line-up plays out with all the drama of The Hunger Games’ reaping. There are tears, broken friendships, and sequins. Oh yes, there are sequins.” — IMDB
