Finalists for Latin Social TV Awards

The U.S. Hispanic market has taken to social TV.  After all, Hispanics like to watch TV and commercials,  and then talk about them with friends on social media.

Broadcasters in the U.S. and in Latin America know this and are creating innovative technology, content, and programs at the leading edge of Social TV.

The first Latin Social TV Awards recognize some remarkable efforts in this young field that includes the U.S. as well as the Caribbean and Latin American markets.

The winners of the STEEVEE awards will be announced at a black-tie gala celebration hosted by Lourdes Stephen and Fernando Fiore of Univision at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Feb. 28.

Leading executives from Google/YouTube, Starcom Media Group, Participant Media, Center for Investigative Reporting, Nobox, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Social TV Daily have gone through three rounds of judging to select 44 finalists in almost 20 categories — from top “Facebook Integration” and “Best Online Video,” to “Entertainer of the Year,” “Marketer of the Year,” to voting for the cable and broadcast networks of the year.

Entries have come from leading broadcasters and media companies such as Billboard, Discovery, ESPN Deportes, Estrella TV Network, FremantleMedia, SBS, Terra, Telemundo, Terra, Univision and Venevision.

After the awards, Randy Falco, president and CEO of Univision, will serve as The Latin Social TV Summit’s keynote speaker, on a full day of presentations and panels on Friday, March 1.

Falco has spearheaded Univision’s bold efforts in social television.

“Our social media strategy is built on the premise that we need to deliver a Univision-branded experience everywhere our audience is and drive engagement as we reassemble our audience, and The Social TV Summit Miami is the right place to further this conversation,” he said in a statement.
