After an completely open schedule, the NBA playoffs return tonight with the four conference semifinals series tied 1-1 — the first time in the 25 years of this playoff.  While the NBA was off, the NHL wasn’t and Stanley Cup action continues  tonight. Another America’s Cup boat crashed, this time with fatal results. The team is nominally Swiss, but the tactician and CEO, Paul Cayard, is a San Francisco Bay Area native, and his crew is comprised largely of British and American sailors. It was an Englishman who died, Andrew Simpson.

Jaguars fan site supports team not signing Tim Tebow
Not everyone in Jacksonville is on the Tebow bandwagon. (Evenifhesreleased.com) There may be a subset of the Jacksonville-area population that remains intrigued by hometown hero Tim Tebow, but general manager David Caldwell, with the support of owner Shahid Khan, has made it clear that Tebow’s NFL future does not include signing with the Jaguars.

Fox Sports 1 announces lineup

One hundred days from its Aug. 17 launch as an all-sports cable network, Fox Sports 1′s opening day programming lineup was revealed Thursday, along with some new talent hires. Fox Sports 1′s debut lineup includes 16½ hours of live programming, with seven hours of NASCAR events in the morning and afternoon leading into a prime-time Ultimate Fighting Championship event, titled “UFC on FS1.”
