NFL Draft Shakes Up Ratings, Social

The NFL Draft has become a tentpole event for TV, and a Social TV juggernaut. Thursday was the first day of the draft and the league tried to hush journalists on Twitter, hackers sent out fake tweets and the social networks buzzed (see our roundup). Here is a look at the best of the draft coverage.

Twitter goes hand-in-hand with many things: awards shows, presidential elections, TV ratings. But one thing it hasn’t quite figured out yet is sports – and that’s exactly why ESPN and the NFL Network will not be tweeting their first round picks during this year’s NFL draft.

It’s been a busy week on social media for many of the projected top picks in tonight’s NFL draft (@NFL_Draft on Twitter). Alabama’s D.J. Fluker claimed his Twitter account was hacked after it posed this message early Wednesday: “Yea I took $ n college so wat. I did wat i had to do.

NFL Draft 2013 Results: Live Analysis and Twitter Reaction for Day 1
