Spotify Signs TV Deal With Samsung – WSJ.com
STOCKHOLM—South Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. Wednesday unveiled a deal with Anglo-Swedish music streaming service Spotify Ltd., that will allow direct streaming of music from Samsung television sets.
The deal will give Samsung a new way to promote its televisions, while Spotify will hope the arrangement offers a new incentive to consumers to pay for its more lucrative subscription service rather than use its advertising-backed free-of-charge offering.
