For Tuesday, ‘Parenthood’ Matches Season High, ‘Raising Hope’ Jumps, ‘Happy Endings’ Steady

As The Voice nears its finale, Tuesday’s results show was steady with a 3.5 rating among adults 18-to-49. NBC’s new entry this week, Take It All, actually was up from its Monday debut. The game show rose a tenth of a point to a 2.3 rating in the demo. At 10 p.m., Parenthood was up two tenths of a point to match its season high of a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49. NBC averaged a 2.6 and 8.1 million viewers.

  • ‘Game Change’ leads Golden Globes’ TV nominees

HBO’s  “Game Change” took the lead on the TV front Thursday morning as the nominees for the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards were announced. The political drama was followed closely by Showtime’s “Homeland.”

  • Golden Globes Mostly Dwell on Cable, Jilt Broadcast Fare

The broadcast networks were snubbed entirely in categories such as best actor in a drama series and best actress in a TV film. HBO led among all outlets with 17 nominations, far ahead of runner-up Showtime, which had seven. Among the broadcast networks, ABC had five while CBS, NBC and PBS had four each and Fox just two.

From epic sci-fi to single-cam comedy shorts, 2012 was a great year for the web. Hulu and Netflix have even jumped into the game with the latter launching five new series in 2013 (including Jenji Kohan’s Orange Is the New Black and the return of Arrested Development). Cutting the cable is only getting easier as the quality of offerings are finally catching up to their diversity.

  • Apple Moves Closer to Making TV Set

Two people said Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., which assembles the iPhone and iPad, has been collaborating with Japan’s Sharp Corp. on the design of the new television for several months. “It isn’t a formal project yet. It is still in the early stage of testing,” one of the people said.

  • Amazon Cloud Player arrives on Roku, Samsung Smart TVs

Amazon’s cloud music service is now available on Roku and Samsung Smart TVs, offering the ability to stream your own digital music tracks without needing to keep a separate computer running. For Roku, it’s a solid response to Apple’s iTunes Match service, which offers cloud storage and streaming for $25 per year. The release comes on the same day Amazon added an Amazon Instant Video app to the iPhone and iPod Touch as well.

Old Navy’s presence during VH1′s popular Divas concert on Sunday night will include pricey 30- and 60-second spots during the cable channel’s telecast. At the same time, there’s a potentially fun digital component to point out.

The retailer is sponsoring a GIF photo booth on the red carpet and backstage at show, which will take place at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. In a nutshell, the technology takes photos and creates limited-motion GIFs of those in the booth.

Miniclip and Univision target Spanish speakers with U.S. online game site

Miniclip and Univision Communications are announcing today that they are launching a co-branded online game property aimed at Spanish-speaking audiences in the U.S.

Neuchatel, Switzerland-based Miniclip,an online game operator, and Univision, today said they will launch Univision Juegos by Miniclip. The deal means that Miniclip’s library of more than 800 games will be available to Univision.com’s online users.
