While the ratings for last year’s Series — a thrilling seven-game victory for the St. Louis Cardinals over the Texas Rangers — rose 19% from the previous year, the fact remains that ratings in three of the last four seasons have been the lowest on record, dating all the way back to 1968.

The 2008 World Series, won by the Philadelphia Phillies over the Tampa Bay Rays, and the 2010 Series, which saw the San Francisco Giants top the Rangers, are tied for the all-time worst Fall Classic ratings, each drawing an 8.4.
