Wednesday’s Social TV Ratings Numbers

The Los Angeles Lakers, playing without superstar Kobe Bryant, beat the Houston Rockets, 99-95 in overtime last night, and earned a playoff berth. The game, on ESPN, dominated social TV with more than 900,000 mentions across Twitter, Facebook, Viggle and GetGlue, NY-based analytics provider Trendrr said this morning.

Close to 400,000 uniques chimed on the Laker victory as sports ruled the night’s cable and TV-related sharing. The NHL game on NBC with the Sabres playing at the Boston Bruins drew more than 170,000 comments as the No. 2 show on cable.

‘American Idol’ on Fox sparked more than 231,000 mentions as the top broadcast program, followed by ‘Survivor’ on CBS with over 59,000 mentions. Yesterday’s critics’ pick, “Suburgatory,” on ABC, was third on broadcast with over 40,000 mentions.

“Duck Dynasty” on A&E was the No. 3 show on cable with 153,000 plus mentions, followed by ESPN’s Sportscenter with 102,980 mentions, according to Trendrr.

For the day, SocialGuide counted 1,090,000 uniques making 2,320,215 TV-related tweets about 950 programs, peaking at the 15-minute period starting at 1:15 a.m. with 177,477 tweets as the Lakers wrapped up a playoff spot on the west coast.
