Twitter’s TV Ad Targeting Uses ‘Video Fingerprinting
Twitter today announced a new program designed to help brands sync up television ads and Promoted Tweets through the use of a cutting edge “video fingerprinting” technology. Via a data dashboard, digital marketers can see in real time when their spots air and what resulting tweet activity occurs about either the brand or TV show.

This Is Twitter’s New TV Ad Product
Twitter chief revenue officer and MIT Media Lab Cognitive Machines director Deb Roy launched a new TV ad targeting platform for Twitter advertisers yesterdat. The concept is simple: Advertisers run TV ad campaigns and Twitter promoted tweets simultaneously, and then – via Twitter TV Ad Targeting – consumers on Twitter are targeted with promoted tweets.

TV Broadcasters Launch Aereokiller Lawsuit in Washington
Television broadcasters are taking the fight over unauthorized streaming to the nation’s capital. On Thursday night, Fox, NBCU, Disney/ABC, Allbritton Communications and Telemundo filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Alki David’s TV digital distribution services in Washington D.C. federal court. The complaint (read in full here) seeks to restrain Aereokiller and FilmOn.TV from retransmitting local TV programming online.

TV Ratings: May Sweep Ends With Three-Way Tie
Season-long victor CBS shares its May sweep win with ABC and Fox. The three networks finished the competitive month averaging a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49. All three of the networks were down from the same period last year, with Fox losing the most (25 percent) — and fourth place NBC managed to post some growth with a 1.7 rating in the final rankings, making for an exceptionally even spread.

Atresmedia launches new second-screen application Juan Fernandez Gonzalez | 24-05-2013 Spain´s Atresmedia has released Atresmedia Conecta, a new version of ANT3.0, the second-screen application which connects viewers with the group’s programmes through social network sites. The app enables users to interact with a programme while it´s being broadcast.

Jim Williams: Second-Screen Options Draw U.S. Open to ESPN Deal
On Thursday, the USTA announced a new 11-year multiplatform broadcast deal with ESPN. The deal will start in 2015 and will make the network the exclusive home of all U.S. Open tennis tournament coverage. CBS has broadcast the U.S. Open every year since 1968; its current deal expires after the 2014 tournament.
