The awards season starts to heat up with last night’s People’s Choice and today’s Oscar nominations topping the list. Today, we gather all of the lists, take a look at what is going on in Las Vegas as CES winds down as well as lots of sports news and a look at what’s hot in the latin market.

Today’s TV Highlights

The awards season continues tonight with the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards playing against such scripted shows like “Big Bang Theory” on CBS, NBC’s “30 Rock,” and “1600 Penn” against a new “Kathy” special on Bravo, or the designers go to Paris and create couture “Project Runway All Stars” on Lifetime.

TV Ratings

  • ‘NCIS’ hits a season high Tuesday while ‘Go On’ stumbles

CBS averaged 16.5 million viewers — more than the other four nets combined — and a 10.4 rating/16 share in households for the night. NBC (5 million, 3.2/5) was the best of the rest, beating ABC (4.2 million, 2.8/4) for second place.

President Enrique Pena Nieto’s newly inducted government ratified a $4.2 million fine against Televisa for monopolistic practices with its subsidiaries and is pushing for the passage of “must-carry” and “must-offer” laws that would pave the way for Mexico’s top two broadcasters, Televisa and TV Azteca, to charge cablers for content.
