MIAMI BEACH — Univision can add the 2013 Latin Social TV Broadcast Network of the Year to its many accolades.

On Thursday night, Univision accepted the Social TV industry’s highest honor as well as six other STEEVEE trophies in a gala celebration at the luxe Fontainebleau Hotel.

The New York-based network dominated the first Latin Social TV awards, winning eight of the 17 awards presented at an industry celebration conceived and organized by Social TV Summits.

The honor is just the latest over the last year for Univision.

“2012 marked a very important chapter in Univision’s strategic transformation from a single niche broadcast station more than 50 years ago to an influential multimedia company today,” said Univision CEO Randy Falco in a statement with the company’s fourth quarter earnings report. When the February ratings sweeps period ended, Univision was counted in the top four television networks in the U.S., shunting traditional powerhouse NBC to a shocking No. 5. This was the first time Univision has taken the reins from NBC and the highest it has finished in an in-season sweep.

David Beck, Univision’s director of social media, was named marketer of the year, and on-air personality Ana Patricia Gonzalez was named Entertainer of the Year. Univision’s UVideos took honors as Best in Show, as well as best mobile Social TV application while Premios Juventud was winner of Best Special Entertainment social TV program and Univision’s programs for the presidential candidates “El Gran Encuentro” (Meet the Candidates) was honored for the Best Integration of Facebook.
