‘American Idol’ on Fox increased its Social TV buzz by 38 percent last night with 294,694 mentions by 129,516 people on Twitter, Facebook, Viggle and GetGlue, Trendrr reported this morning.
Idol edged out NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ which had 209,757 mentions, according to Trendrr’s numbers.
On Twitter, Idol had 181,051 mentions to 94,817 for ‘The Voice,’ according to SocialGuide’s analytics.
According to Trendrr:
Sports dominated Social TV buzz, for cable and broadcast last night, with the TNT broadcast of the NBA playoff game between Chicago and Miami igniting over 1 million mentions by 460,676 people. The Heat won, 115-78.
The No. 2 program was the NBA’s playoff airing of the Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs with 598,903 mentions. Golden State won, 100-91.
The NHL Stanley Cup playoff between the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers (Rangers win, 4-3), on NBC Sports, was the No. 3 show on cable with 131,019 mentions, followed by ESPN’s Sportscenter with 104,200 mentions, then the Stanley Cup on CNBC with the LA Kings beating St. Louis, 3-2, with 59,139 mentions.
On broadcast, ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ on NBC continued to enjoy its Viggle promotion with 83,082 mentions, down from 109,874 for Tuesday. (See our previous story.)
NBC’s ‘Law and Order: SVU’ was fourth with 66,381 mentions while CBS’s ‘Survivor’ had 59,577 mentions.
For the day, SocialGuide said Social TV buzz on Twitter had 3,514,409 mentions by 1,417,229 people about 1,011 shows. Activity peaked with 249,978 tweets in the 15-minute period starting at 9:15.
