NEW YORK — Today Nielsen announced a pilot program for Nielsen Digital Program Ratings, which will measure audiences for TV content viewed online. A+E, ABC, AOL, CBS, The CW, Discovery Communications, FOX, NBC, and Univision have all signed on to participate in this test, which will begin in May and run through July.

Yahoo continues content push with exclusive WWE partnership and original programming

Last week, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer announced an exclusive deal to offer Saturday Night Live’s clip library online, but it turns out that was just the tip of the content iceberg. 45 Million Unique Viewers Watch Professional Online Content Each Month

NewFronts: Microsoft Pushes ‘Brand Safe’ Content Into StageDoor

Microsoft unwrapped a light slate of new content at its Digital Content NewFronts event, with the few highlights including “StageDoor,” an MSN video content destination that aggregates “brand-safe” video content into nine channels, and pact for electronic-dance music content. StageDoor (a codename) is designed to be a more TV-like experience than what is found today on online portals, according to Microsoft.

MLB expands YouTube partnership with highlights and international live streams

Major League Baseball and YouTube today announced a deeper partnership between both sides that will bring current-season highlights and archival footage to the video streaming site. Additionally, the new agreement allows baseball fans outside the US, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan to watch two live games each day during the regular season.
